Effector RF Design Department is responsible for developing RF and Microwave hardware, including transmitters, receivers, and exciters. This includes design, test, and supplier oversight activities that span preliminary design to integration. Products we develop support radar applications on a variety of tactical missile programs. Critical to this role is designing for challenging mechanical constraints and extreme environments.
The CCA Slice Engineering Lead is responsible for engineering leadership of an assigned production Slice, consisting of multiple circuit card assemblies (CCAs), metal frames, covers, and associated next-higher-level assembly hardware. This role ensures technical readiness, material availability, and issue resolution across the Slice to support predictable throughput and First Pass Yield (FPY). The Slice Engineering Lead partners closely with Operations, Test, Hardware Engineering, and Suppliers to maintain healthy flow and minimize aging units.
This position is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ.
What You Will Do
- Lead daily engineering support for the assigned production Slice, ensuring assemblies, tooling, and test equipment are available, functional, and ready for flow.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution activities across CCAs, mechanical hardware, Pilot Line Facility (PLF) benches, and supplier benches as issues arise.
- Monitor and drive improvements in key Slice performance metrics including FPY, cycle time, backlog aging, and station availability.
- Review and disposition non‑conforming material, evaluate failure reports, and drive closure of technical actions required for return to flow.
- Partner with Operations to remove blockers in Work in Process (WIP), accelerate aged units, and maintain alignment with delivery commitments.
- Coordinate PLF station utilization, calibration needs, and supplier bench health to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Lead root‑cause investigations for recurring failures or production escapes and implement corrective actions in coordination with responsible engineering teams.
- Contribute to material readiness activities including BOM validation, part availability tracking, and coordination with planning/supply chain to prevent shortages.
- Maintain thorough documentation of engineering actions, findings, and corrective measures in accordance with Raytheon process discipline.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cycle time, improve FPY, and enhance manufacturing robustness across the Slice.
Qualifications You Must Have

- Production support, hardware troubleshooting, test support, or integration of CCAs and electromechanical assemblies.
- Ability to diagnose issues across electronic and mechanical interfaces within next higher-level assemblies.
- Familiarity with test stations, calibration requirements, and production test processes.
- Strong ability to interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and test procedures
Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start.

- Effective communication skills for coordinating across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.
- Strong academic foundation in one or more of the following:
- Circuit Design (RF, Analog, and/or Digital)
- RF/Microwave Engineering
- Production Experience
- Experience leading daily engineering support for production lines or Slices.
- Understanding of FPY improvement methods, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) practices, and data driven issue trending.
- Familiarity with Raytheon failure review processes, variance documentation, material review boards, and production health reporting.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical enclosure assemblies, CCA installation, and system-level integration.
