Your Role & Scope of Impact
In this newly created leadership role, you will take charge of leading and developing the estimation team. You will combine hands-on project cost calculation with strategic initiatives such as process optimization and the integration of AI tools into estimation workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the cost estimation team, acting as the primary point of contact for daily operations.
- Independent Cost Estimation: Prepare precise, competitive cost estimates and tenders for turnkey construction projects ranging from €30M to €60M (occasionally up to €200M).
- Tender & Risk Analysis: Thoroughly review tender documentation for completeness, identify optimization opportunities, and conduct systematic risk and opportunity assessments.
- Process & Master Data Management: Maintain, update, and expand internal master estimation databases and unit price records.
- Strategy & Negotiation: Lead internal estimation meetings, report directly to division management, contribute to tender strategy, and assist during contract award negotiations.
- Client Engagement: Occasionally participate in client meetings, site visits, and industry events to support business development.
Candidate Profile
Must-Haves:
- Education: Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a comparable technical qualification.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in construction cost estimation, work preparation, or site management within turnkey/building construction.
- Leadership Skills: Initial experience in leading teams or managing project units.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard estimation software (iTWO) and MS Office.
- Languages: Fluent / Professional German skills (minimum C1 level).
Nice-to-Haves & Personal Attributes:
- Specialized experience in turnkey project estimation and proficiency with Bluebeam.
- Affinity for technological innovations (e.g., BIM, AI applications in construction).
