About the team and the role
eBay’s Global Platform organization provides the shared technology foundations that help product and technology teams develop, deliver, and operate software at scale. Within Global Platform, we build the tools, systems, and services that engineers use throughout the software development lifecycle.
As a Senior Technical Product Manager, Developer Platform, you will steward a defined platform area in close partnership with the engineering team that builds and operates it. We work with developers across eBay to understand how they use our platforms, where they encounter friction, and where new capabilities can make them more effective.
You will use customer insight, usage and operational data, and technical judgment to set priorities and guide the platform from discovery through adoption. We balance new capabilities with modernization, reliability, performance, and long-term platform health. Come help us make software delivery at eBay faster, safer, and easier!
What you will accomplish
- Set the strategy, roadmap, priorities, and success measures for a defined developer platform area.
- Discover developer needs and sources of friction through customer research, platform usage, and operational data.
- Shape product and technical direction with engineers and architects by evaluating options, dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs.
- Prioritize and steer work from problem definition through delivery and adoption, balancing new capabilities with modernization, reliability, performance, and cost.
- Scale recurring developer needs into reusable platform capabilities, and measure success through adoption, productivity, service health, performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify, evaluate, and scale responsible AI-enabled capabilities that accelerate product delivery, improve engagement with internal customers, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
What you will bring
- Seven or more years of relevant experience building or managing complex technology products.
- Experience setting direction and driving adoption for a platform, infrastructure product, developer tool, or related technical capability.
- Technical depth in areas such as developer platforms, native apps, CI/CD, observability, APIs, or distributed systems.
- Experience using customer insight, product data, and technical evidence to prioritize investments and make tradeoffs.
- A record of influencing engineers, architects, and senior leaders to move complex work from discovery through measurable results.
A background in software engineering, architecture, or related technical work is preferred.
We value skills and experience gained through different career paths and at different career stages. We encourage you to apply even when your background does not match every preferred qualification!
