Position Overview
The Director, Operational Accounting is a leadership role responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and financial analysis for a portfolio of Healthpeak properties, while supporting the Company's public reporting process through the preparation, review, and delivery of accurate and timely financial information.

Position Overview
The Director, Operational Accounting is a leadership role responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and financial analysis for a portfolio of Healthpeak properties, while supporting the Company's public reporting process through the preparation, review, and delivery of accurate and timely financial information.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including same-store analyses, capital expenditure reporting, cash flow and distribution analyses, budgets, forecasts, budget-to-actual variance reporting, and supplemental and SEC Form 10-Q/10-K disclosures.
- Oversee the month-end close process for assigned properties, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements through the review and approval of journal entries, general ledger activity, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analyze financial results to identify variances, trends, errors, and unusual activity, and provide clear, actionable explanations and recommendations for resolution.
- Manage the SLR financial reporting process, including actual results reviews, forecast development and analysis, account reconciliations, and reserve assessments to support accurate financial reporting and informed business decision-making.
- Demonstrate expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial modeling, data analysis, reporting automation, and reconciliation of large datasets.
- Direct and prioritize team workload to ensure deadlines are met, resources are effectively utilized, and deliverables maintain a high standard of quality and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, SOX controls, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
- Communicate complex accounting concepts and financial matters effectively
- Directly oversee and develop a team of two accounting professionals, establishing clear objectives, monitoring performance, providing coaching and mentorship, and fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and continuous process improvement.
- Lead and participate in special projects, including system implementations, enhancements, upgrades, process improvements, and user acceptance testing.
- Maintain a hybrid work schedule with regular onsite attendance at the Irvine, CA office in accordance with company policy and business needs.
- Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of Public Accounting, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Capability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- High attention to detail with strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Strong proficiency in Yardi or similar real estate accounting systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams
- Salary range of $150k - $170k plus generous cash incentives
