Cobol Mainframe Specialist

Own the technical direction and architecture of custom software solutions, leading teams through design and delivery. Set development standards and ensure code quality, scalability, and performance aligned to business objectives.

Required JD: Securities (Trading) L2/L3 Engineer (Dev and Production Support) Domain knowledge on Trading lifecycle, SWIFT Technical skills: Java, Cobol, CICs, C++, DB2 MF, MS SQL, Eclipse, IntelliJ, Tomcat Apache, Gitlab Protocols: Rest API, SFTP/FTP, MQ, LDAP Summary: As a Custom Software Engineering Lead, a typical day involves guiding the technical vision and architectural framework for bespoke software projects. This role includes overseeing the design and implementation phases, ensuring that development practices meet high standards of quality and efficiency. Collaboration with various stakeholders and teams is a key part of the daily routine, fostering an environment where innovative solutions are developed to meet evolving business needs. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform. - Responsible for team decisions. - Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. - Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams. - Facilitate effective communication and coordination among team members to ensure project milestones are met. - Mentor and support team members to enhance their skills and professional growth. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize development processes and product quality. Professional & Technical Skills: - Required Skill: Expert proficiency in COBOL. - Additional Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Trading Services Front Office, Banking. - Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and best practices. - Experience in ensuring code quality, scalability, and performance in software solutions. - Ability to lead technical discussions and make informed decisions to guide project direction. - Familiarity with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies. Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in COBOL. - This position is based at our Manila office. Minimum 3 year(s) of experience is required
