Senior Swimwear Technical Designer

Now Hiring a Senior Swimwear Technical Designer for an established fashion brand known for swim and lifestyle apparel. This is a hands-on senior role for someone who knows swimwear inside and out from stretch fabric behavior and support to pattern corrections, grading, and production construction.

You’ll have meaningful ownership of fit and technical execution, partnering with creative and production teams to turn design concepts into comfortable, consistent, production-ready swimwear.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own technical development of swimwear styles from early samples through production.
• Lead live-model fittings and translate fit observations into clear, actionable corrections.
• Build accurate tech packs, measurements, grading specifications, sketches, and construction details.
• Evaluate patterns, stretch materials, elastics, linings, and specialized swimwear construction.
• Partner with Design to protect the aesthetic while improving fit, support, comfort, and manufacturability.
• Communicate directly with domestic and international factories to resolve technical and quality issues.
• Help strengthen fit consistency and technical standards across seasonal collections.

REQUIREMENTS

• 9+ years of technical design experience, with significant swimwear expertise.
• Advanced knowledge of swimwear fit, patternmaking, grading, construction, and stretch fabric behavior.
• Proven experience leading fittings and communicating technical corrections to factories and pattern makers.
• Experience with domestic and international production, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and StyleCAD is a plus.
• Knowledge of knits or performance apparel is also valuable.
