The Role
This role is responsible for driving innovative proposition development and supporting sustainable growth across Asia, with a primary focus on the India market. By combining market insight, product expertise, commercial understanding and creative thinking, the role helps develop differentiated propositions that deliver measurable value to clients and support strategic business objectives.
The role will identify emerging market trends and proposition opportunities, translating insights into practical strategies that enhance client propositions and address evolving market needs.
Working closely with Client Solutions, Pricing, Underwriting and other internal and external stakeholders, this position supports the development and delivery of proposition initiatives, coordinates cross-functional input, and helps ensure solutions are aligned with client needs, business objectives and strategic priorities.
This is a collaborative and hands-on role that provides the opportunity to contribute to proposition innovation, collaborate across functions and support the delivery of strategic priorities across the region.
Duties
Delivering India market product and proposition development
- Proactively identify market trends, client needs and business opportunities, translating insights into differentiated propositions that address evolving market needs and support strategic business objectives.
- Leverage market intelligence, protection expertise and relevant data sources to develop propositions, balancing client needs, product design considerations, commercial objectives and risk implications to deliver practical and sustainable solutions.
- Progress proposition opportunities from concept to implementation, coordinating internal and external stakeholders through governance and approval processes to support successful delivery.
- Develop and articulate compelling proposition concepts, supporting client and stakeholder discussions by effectively communicating proposition rationale, value drivers and key considerations.
- Keep the wider Protection team informed of relevant market developments, emerging trends and proposition opportunities, sharing insights that support business growth and innovation.
Supporting strategic business priorities and enablement initiatives
- Support the delivery of strategic business priorities, initiatives and enablement activities across the Protection function, collaborating with stakeholders to drive effective execution and implementation.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects that enhance proposition capabilities, business processes and operational effectiveness.
Supporting business management and reporting activities
- Support quarterly new business reporting
- Generate management information and analysis to monitor pipeline performance and new business growth opportunities.
- Support the maintenance of internal documentation, governance processes, reporting frameworks and business management tools.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the India life (re)insurance market, with at least 6 years of relevant industry experience and a proven understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, distribution models, competitive developments, and the interplay between product design and underwriting, including their impact on customer experience and commercial objectives.
- Preferably a qualified actuary with relevant post qualified experience
- Highly analytical and a creative problem solver, with strong interpersonal and organisational skills
Leadership Skills
- Proactive and driven individual who is a self-starter and able to find a way to get things done with limited direction
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Highly collaborative individual who is comfortable with holding cross functional team members accountable
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
- Ability to develop clear, compelling and executive-ready materials
- Ability to quickly cut through detail and focus on what is important, being decisive and accountable
- An individual with a dynamic and innovative mindset who challenges the status quo

- Ability to manage competing demands and deal with non-standard and unstructured requests, at short notice
