Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Refrigeration/HVAC, is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVACR systems to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with industry regulations. This role involves managing equipment maintenance, coordinating with suppliers and service providers, and supporting budget and inventory processes. The technician applies technical expertise to develop and execute action plans, ensuring safety and environmental standards are met. Collaboration with management and business partners is essential to address priorities, improve processes, and deliver reliable service that supports facility operations and business objectives.
About the team:
The General Facilities Maintenance Technician team ensures the efficient operation and upkeep of Walmart’s facilities through preventive maintenance, repairs, and adherence to safety standards. Utilizing expertise in HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, and equipment maintenance, the team supports business needs by prioritizing tasks and delivering effective solutions. They collaborate closely with management and service providers, maintaining clear communication and integrity. Focused on continuous skill development, the team fosters a safe, reliable environment that upholds Walmart’s mission and enhances customer satisfaction.
What you'll do:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulations.
- Conduct inspections and complete preventive maintenance on rooftop units, condenser coils, and related systems.
- Manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, and order necessary supplies while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Collaborate with management, coworkers, and external service providers to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and industry standards, including EPA 608 and OSHA guidelines.
- Compile budget information, submit warranty claims, and develop scopes of work for HVACR projects.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Valid HVAC and EPA 608 Technician certifications demonstrating compliance with industry standards.
- Strong knowledge of refrigerant handling, inventory management, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret and apply HVACR policies, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines effectively.
- Experience collaborating with management, coworkers, and external partners to meet operational priorities.
- Skilled in conducting inspections, preventive maintenance, and managing service workloads.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
