Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is looking for a dependable and self-directed Unarmed Security Officer to perform overnight property checks, lockup procedures, and scheduled patrol visits. This position is well suited for someone who is comfortable working independently, follows instructions carefully, and takes pride in being reliable and approachable.
The officer will conduct routine foot patrols, secure designated exterior doors and areas, complete scheduled overnight visits, and document activity accurately. Training specific to the assignment will be provided after hire.
Schedule & Patrol Requirements
Monday - Thursday
- Lockup begins at 9:00 PM (2100)
- One additional random visit between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM (2100 - 0500)
Friday - Sunday
- Lockup begins at 9:00 PM (2100)
- Two additional random visits between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM (2100 - 0500)
Typical Coverage:
- Approximately 2 - 3 stops per night
- Schedule may require flexibility within the designated overnight coverage period.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled foot patrols throughout assigned areas.
- Complete the nightly lockup at the designated time and verify that required areas are properly secured.
- Check exterior doors and other designated access points to confirm they are secure.
- Conduct additional random patrol visits according to assignment instructions.
- Observe for unusual activity, unsecured areas, property concerns, or conditions requiring attention.
- Follow all instructions outlined in post orders and assignment procedures.
- Respond appropriately to routine concerns and notify the appropriate contact when an issue requires additional assistance.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports documenting patrol activity, observations, and incidents.
- Use a reliable mobile device for required work-related activities and communication.
- Maintain a professional, approachable presence when interacting with individuals encountered during patrols.
- Protect confidential information and perform all responsibilities with honesty and integrity.
- Complete required site-specific training and apply the procedures provided during onboarding.
Required Qualifications
- Active Utah DOPL Guard Card required.
- Valid Driver’s License (DL) required.
- Minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
- Clean driving record required.
- Reliable transportation to and from the designated vehicle check-out location.
- Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
- Comfortable performing overnight duties alone.
- Ability to consistently follow post orders, instructions, and established procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic report-writing ability.
- Reliable mobile device capable of supporting required job-related activities.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening and company onboarding.

Training
- Assignment-specific training will be provided upon hire.
- New employees will be expected to learn and follow all applicable post orders and procedures.
- Training will cover the duties and expectations associated with the assigned location.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to walk for extended periods while conducting foot patrols.
- Ability to work outdoors during overnight hours and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to inspect exterior doors, designated areas, and access points during routine checks.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout overnight assignments.
- Ability to work independently and complete scheduled visits without constant supervision.
- Ability to safely perform routine patrol and lockup responsibilities.
