Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Area Maintenance Coordinator

to join our Ashland LLC business at our Calvert City, Ky. This position will report to the Operations/Maintenance Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work with area and maintenance personnel to schedule equipment to be properly prepared      (clean,  LOTO, etc) & ready for maintenance while minimizing downtime.
  • Work with area and maintenance personnel to schedule Preventative Maintenance (PM) work on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate with Asset Integrity & Reliability Eng’g and maintenance personnel to ensure all required ITPMs (inspections, testing & preventive maintenance) are scheduled and completed on time.
  • Provide area input to maintenance personnel.
  • Define equipment set ups for safe maintenance repair.
  • Work with area and maintenance personnel to plan unit shutdowns.
  • Manage R & M spending by capitalizing repair jobs that result in equipment replacement.
  • Work with maintenance and area personnel to reduce the number of emergency work orders.
  • Daily use of CMMS (Maximo).
  • Estimate and plan maintenance work and its impact on plant production equipment availability.
  • Schedule and manage various aspects of annual unit maintenance shutdowns.
  • Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety
  • Improve the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others

What This Role Is Not:

  • Not a management position – while you will collaborate with other team members, this is an individual contributor role with no direct reports however this position can be used for relief FLL responsibilities
  • Not an entry level position – we need a candidate to hit the ground running with solid experience and a background to prove it

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Significant experience in roles of manufacturing supervision, maintenance supervision,   maintenance planning, or maintenance coordination is preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills are required
  • Teamwork and team leadership abilities are required
  • Chemical plant operation or chemical plant maintenance experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in safety and safety leadership is required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience is required
  • Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
  • The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • Three or more years of maintenance planning, coordination, or supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CMMS (Maximo) software and maintenance scheduling.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Experience managing maintenance KPIs, labor utilization, and spare parts inventory.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of OSHA requirements and industrial safety practices.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
