Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.
Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. Although based out of Nashville, we serve several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis.

Job Title: Project Manager, Process Improvement
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Position Summary: Coordinates strategic growth and improvement projects for the agency.
Essential Responsibilities
Project Management
Lead projects from initiation through completion, ensuring scope, timeline, budget, and objectives are achieved.
Develop project charters, timelines, communication plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
Coordinate resources and stakeholders across multiple departments.
Monitor project performance and provide status updates to leadership.
Identify and resolve barriers that may impact project success.
Ensure project deliverables are implemented and sustained.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Facilitation
Facilitate Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), workshops, and process mapping sessions.
Coach teams in Lean methodologies, including A3 Thinking, Daily Management, 5S, waste identification, standard work, and Kaizen.
Guide teams through root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts.
Partner with process owners and steering teams to implement, monitor, and sustain improvements.
Support development of process control boards, huddles, standard work, and sustainment plans.
Measure outcomes and ensure improvements result in meaningful organizational impact.
Change Management & Organizational Development
Build stakeholder engagement and support adoption of new processes.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and decision making.
Develop training materials, toolkits, and communication plans to support change initiatives.
Coach leaders and frontline associates in continuous improvement practices.
Promote a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Data & Performance Management
Define success metrics and key performance indicators.
Analyze operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
Develop dashboards, reports, and visual management tools.
Track project and improvement outcomes and communicate results to leadership.
Use data to support decision making and prioritization.
Other Responsibilities:
Responsible for attending all mandatory in-services, continuing education and annual health requirements
Comply with all Corporate Compliance policies, practices and procedures. Report all unethical activities to supervisor, Corporate Compliance Office, Values Hotline number or Human Resource Director
Comply with all OSHA and safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe practices or accidents to supervisor, Safety Supervisor and/or OSHA Coordinator
Will be compliant with the relevant regulations concerning the privacy and security of consumer’s protected health information (PHI) as established by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Perform other duties as assigned
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
Follow all policies and procedures set by the Agency
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business-related field or equivalent years of experience
2 years of project management experience in health care setting preferred
Familiarity with Lean methodology (i.e., A3 Thinking, MDI, 8 Wastes, etc) preferred
Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
Excellent analytical skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Essential Requirements for the Position:
