Job Description:
The Technical Publications Controller is responsible to the Global Technical Publications Supervisor. Their overall purpose is to maintain a complete and current global Technical Library for all regions. The Technical Publications Controller shall follow all departmental procedures to ensure a complete, current, and accurate technical library is maintained for use by Company personnel.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Activity
- Monitoring all incoming email notifications for OEM and Vendor document updates, adding all items to the internal tracking system, and submitting all necessary documents through the Service Desk for vetting via Fleet Engineering;
- Publishing vetted documentation in all necessary formats, e.g. electronically and physically, as required.
- Publishing AS/SBs after initiation by the ARC team and vetting completion by Fleet Engineering;
- Publishing all Technical Directives (TDs) as received from Fleet Engineering;
- Publishing all Fleet Support Notices (FSNs) as received from Fleet Engineering;
- Submitting all internal Modifications / Drawings to Fleet Engineering for vetting, and publishing as applicable once vetted;
- Auditing of all OEM documents to verify currency and accuracy on a regularly scheduled basis;
- Auditing of all Vendor documents to verify currency and accuracy on a regularly scheduled basis;
- Compiling and distributing Regional Master Publication Lists on a rotational basis;
- Updating the TD/FSN/TECI report upon receipt and distributing the full report on a weekly basis;
- Supporting the Document Control team by either internally printing or facilitating printing orders with an external printing company and distributing the documentation as needed;
- Maintaining the stock level of Company labels/tags/forms to include ordering and distributing as and when required;
- Creating Purchase Requisitions in SAP for necessary orders; and,
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Global Technical Publications Supervisor.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: (minimum education requirements, key skills and experience)
Qualifications
- Higher grades in English/Maths or equivalent experience in Technical Publications
Experience
- Previous experience with Technical Publications or publication management preferred;
- Previous administrative experience preferred;
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel, preferred;
- Previous experience with Adobe products preferred.
