Corewell Health, Michigan’s largest health system, is seeking full-time and part-time anesthesiologists to join our Corewell Health West Women’s Health team. This opportunity has flexibility between care team model and self-performing anesthesia.
Level 4 Maternal Health Center: Butterworth Hospital
Just under 8,000 deliveries a year
OB anesthesia dedicated day and night team, with no main OR cross coverage while on L&D shift
Multidisciplinary physician-led L&D team including anesthesia care RNs, with plans to include APPs this year
Building toward new anesthesia residency in the next 2-3 years
Robust quaternary referral center led by well-established Maternal Fetal Care team
Opportunities to lead and contribute on multidisciplinary teams:
Placenta accreta multidisciplinary care with monthly planning meetings including MFM, gyn-onc, OB anesthesia, radiology, NICU and pathology
Complex cardiac maternal care team (SCOPE)
Building Fetal Care Center with multidisciplinary team including OB and Peds anesthesia, neurosurgery, peds surgery and MFM
Women’s Health anesthesia opportunities outside of obstetrics include complex GYN, MIGS, uro-gyn, gyn-onc, and soon office based gyn cases
What You’ll Do
Provide anesthesia in both care team and solo practice models
Participate in a 1:7 call rotation, covering shifts on L&D and main ORs
Contribute to quality initiatives, periop optimization, and collaborative decision making across teams
Help build our new residency program, with input on OB anesthesia didactics, clinical instruction, and rotation building
Work in a positive, supportive environment where work-life balance is prioritized and a 40-hour work week is full-time.
Qualifications
Required Doctorate (MD/DO)
Fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesiology preferred or equivalent experience
Anesthesiology Board Certification/eligible
LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive compensation (up to $594k+) plus starting bonus of $100K
