Country Head, Vietnam
Location : Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Description
The Country Head will be the senior leader for Apex Group’s Vietnam office, responsible for providing strong local leadership across governance, business operations, people, commercial priorities and stakeholder management.
The role will work closely with the Vietnam Leadership Team, Board of Directors and regional leadership to ensure the office operates effectively, compliantly and in line with Apex Group’s global standards.
The Location Head will also support the continued growth and development of the Vietnam business, driving collaboration across functions and ensuring alignment with regional and global priorities.
Key Responsibilities :
Own full P&L responsibility for the local business, driving sustainable revenue growth, profitability, cost management and overall financial performance, while ensuring alignment with the Group’s strategic objectives.
Act as the key bridge between the local business and the wider Group, integrating local operations, strategy and commercial priorities with Group-wide objectives, governance, functions and operating standards.
Contribute to the development and execution of the Vietnam business strategy, aligned with regional and global objectives.
Identify opportunities for revenue growth, business synergies and cross-functional collaboration across geographies and products.
Work closely with the Vietnam Board of Directors and Leadership Team to ensure the entity operates in line with applicable governance, regulatory and company standards.
Ensure key governance, risk, compliance and operational matters are identified, escalated and addressed in a timely manner.
Support the Vietnam leadership team on country- and region-level priorities and initiatives as required.
Act as the key local leadership representative for the office, promoting a strong culture of accountability, collaboration and operational excellence.
Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders across Apex Group and represent the interests of the Vietnam office at regional and global forums.
Assess and prioritise opportunities based on commercial value, strategic alignment, operational feasibility and risk.
Work closely with commercial, operations and product teams to identify opportunities to leverage Apex Group’s capabilities across the region.
Maintain a strong understanding of the local market, clients, competitors and business environment.
Act as the on-site leader responsible for day-to-day management of the Vietnam office, including oversight of facilities management and office administration to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive working environment.
Oversee service vendors, contractors, and facility maintenance to support uninterrupted office operations and regulatory compliance.
Manage all office infrastructure needs, including equipment, office layout, procurement of supplies, and health and safety standards.
Work closely with operations, marketing, HR, finance, and other support functions, driving growth.
Skills Required:
+10 years’ experience in the finance industry, part of it being in Asset Management or top tear consulting firms will be a strong plus.
Proven experience managing an offshore team in a senior leadership role, preferably within offshoring or fund administration will be highly regarded.
Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing would be plus.
Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business growth.
Working knowledge of performance/operation metrics, IT/Business infrastructure
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
Comfort liaising with clients, advisors and intermediaries.
Risk identification and management skills.
Ability to motivate and influence up and down the management hierarchy.
Experience with regulatory law, Trustee or Treasury services or/and finance would be helpful but not mandatory
Able to establish good rapport quickly with both internal and with external parties
