Job Description Summary

The Finance Lead, CAC and Export Markets is the senior finance business partner for the region, supporting financial planning, performance management, governance and decision-making across multi-country and distributor-led operations. The role provides high-quality financial insight, ensures reliable reporting and controls, and enables disciplined resource allocation to support sustainable business performance.
The position combines strategic finance leadership with strong operational depth, partnering with commercial, supply chain and functional leaders to translate business priorities into robust financial plans, identify risks and opportunities, and drive timely corrective action. The role also leads the regional finance team and promotes simplification, standardisation and continuous improvement across markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead financial planning and performance management

·       Lead budgeting, forecasting, Latest Estimate and target-setting cycles for CAC and Export Markets.

·       Consolidate country and market financials, analyse performance versus budget, prior year and forecasts, and provide clear recommendations to leadership.

·       Monitor sales, profitability, operating expenses, cash flow, personnel costs and other key value drivers, ensuring visibility of risks and opportunities.

·       Establish effective performance rhythms and support timely corrective actions when results or leading indicators are off track.

2. Provide strategic finance business partnering

·       Act as a trusted finance partner to regional, country, commercial, supply chain and functional leaders.

·       Provide robust financial evaluation for business cases, pricing decisions, tenders, launches, portfolio choices, investments and distributor opportunities.

·       Challenge assumptions constructively, clarify financial trade-offs and support decisions that balance short-term delivery with long-term value creation.

·       Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.

3. Ensure financial reporting, governance and control

·       Ensure timely, accurate and consistent monthly, quarterly and annual reporting in line with Sandoz requirements and local regulations.

·       Maintain strong data quality and financial discipline across systems, reporting tools and market submissions.

·       Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, compliance standards and documentation expectations across the region.

·       Identify and mitigate financial risks related to credit, inventory, tax, cash flow, third parties and operating processes.

4. Drive resource and cost management

·       Provide transparency on operating expenses, workforce costs, investments and productivity initiatives.

·       Guide resource allocation towards the highest-value priorities and support cost-efficiency actions without compromising critical business capabilities.

·       Monitor balance sheet, cash and working-capital drivers and promote disciplined financial ownership across the organisation.

5. Lead process improvement and finance transformation

·       Drive simplification, standardisation and automation of financial processes, reporting and planning across markets.

·       Improve the quality, speed and usability of finance information through fit-for-purpose tools, templates and performance dashboards.

·       Promote continuous improvement and cross-market sharing of best practices.

6. Lead, inspire and develop the finance team

·       Build a high-performing, engaged and accountable finance team with clear roles, priorities and standards.

·       Coach and develop team members, strengthen succession and capability pipelines, and create opportunities for growth.

·       Foster effective collaboration across countries, functions and cultures while role-modelling integrity, inclusion and the Sandoz Way.

·       Delivery of finance KPIs, including cost, Core EBIT, personnel costs, headcount, cash and other relevant performance indicators.

·       Timely and accurate completion of all planning and reporting cycles, including actuals, forecasts, targets and latest estimates.

Minimum Requirements

·       Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field; professional certification or postgraduate qualification is desirable.

·       Proven experience in multinational and multi-country environments; exposure to distributor or export markets is strongly preferred.

·       Strong understanding of financial planning, reporting, balance sheet, tax, cash flow, internal controls and audit fundamentals.

·       Advanced business English and Spanish.

·       Advanced Excel and experience with ERP and financial reporting systems; SAP experience is preferred.

·       Proven ability to lead, inspire and develop teams to deliver strong results and create an engaged, accountable and high-performing culture.

·       Healthcare, pharmaceutical or FMCG experience is desirable; exposure to pricing, tenders and distributor business models is beneficial.
