Schedule: Tuesday 5:35 p.m. to 8:25 p.m.
Preparation and course lectures: 9 out of 13 lectures, from January 5 to April 14, 2026. The incumbent will provide lectures for the 3-credit course AERO 520 on aerospace-design related topics, including sizing of aircrafts; configuration design; design of fuselage, wing, and empennage; stability, control, and performance; component weight estimation; and aerodynamics and thrust characteristics. The incumbent will guide students in the use of Advanced Aircraft Analysis (AAA) or equivalent software in relation to these topics. The software will provide the basis for the design projects, undertaken by teams of students, that will constitute the majority of the assigned work in the course. In addition, the incumbent will offer guidance and feedback on the design projects.

Salary: The salary will be pro-rated to 9/13 of the standard MCLIU Course Lecturer salary ($11,824) and will equal $8,198.

Préparation et cours magistraux : 9 cours sur 13, du 5 janvier au 14 avril 2026. Le titulaire donnera des cours magistraux pour le cours AERO 520 (3 crédits) sur des sujets liés à la conception aérospatiale, notamment le dimensionnement des aéronefs; la conception de la configuration; la conception du fuselage, des ailes et de l’empennage; la stabilité, le contrôle et la performance; l’estimation du poids des composants; ainsi que l’aérodynamique et les caractéristiques de poussée. Le titulaire guidera les étudiants dans l’utilisation du logiciel Advanced Aircraft Analysis (AAA) ou d’un logiciel équivalent en lien avec ces sujets. Ce logiciel servira de base aux projets de conception, réalisés par des équipes d’étudiants, qui constitueront la majeure partie du travail demandé dans le cadre du cours. De plus, le titulaire offrira des conseils et des commentaires sur les projets de conception.

Salaire : Le salaire sera calculé au prorata à raison de 9/13 du salaire standard d’un chargé de cours au MCLIU (11 824 $) et s’élèvera à 8 198 $.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

• Minimum of Master’s degree in Engineering
• Ideally member of Order of Engineers, though not required.
• Extensive knowledge of Advanced Aircraft Analysis (AAA) or equivalent software.
• Experience with supervising and guiding students through design projects.
• Extensive experience with Aerospace Engineering Design and Engineering Team Management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of spoken and written English.
• Strong problem-solving skills and flexible approach to teaching.

Exigences relatives aux qualifications d’enseignement :

• Au minimum, une maîtrise en génie.
• Idéalement, être membre de l’Ordre des ingénieurs, bien que cela ne soit pas obligatoire.
• Connaissance approfondie du logiciel Advanced Aircraft Analysis (AAA) ou d’un logiciel équivalent.
• Expérience dans la supervision et l’encadrement d’étudiants dans le cadre de projets de conception.
• Vaste expérience en conception en génie aérospatial et en gestion d’équipes d’ingénieurs.
• Maîtrise avérée de l’anglais parlé et écrit.
• Solides compétences en résolution de problèmes et approche flexible de l’enseignement.
