Location/Region: This role is a fully remote role that will need to occasionally travel to our facility in Bloomfield, CT. Candidate residency is preferred in Connecticut, but open to candidates located in the states below:

What’s the role?

The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving growth of their product portfolio within the assigned territory. This role focuses on prospecting, developing qualified opportunities, delivering compelling product demonstrations, and converting qualified opportunities into orders. Working closely with technical and commercial teams, the Sales Engineer expands market presence by winning new customers and delivering metrology solutions to customers across industrial and manufacturing markets.

Here’s what you’ll do:

 

• Identify and create new sales opportunities

• Develop and execute a territory plan and identify opportunities for growth
• Travel within the assigned territory to prospect, meet customers, perform product demonstrations, and support other sales and marketing activities
• Collaborate with local teams at the ZEISS Quality Excellence Center (QEC) to support demonstrations, customer engagement, and sales activities

• Maximize sales potential by identifying and sharing leads with other sales channels and teams
• Stay current on software and hardware capabilities to deliver high-quality customer demonstrations
• Follow the ZEISS Sales Process (ZSP) to tailor the best solutions for the customers’ specific needs
• Support sales and marketing events to promote our products and engage with potential customers
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, opportunity updates, and customer activity records in Salesforce

Do you qualify?

 

• Minimum of 2 years of technical sales, applications engineering, metrology, or related industry experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to solve complex customer problems and manage solution-based sales discussions
• Eagerness to be a part of a high-performance, fast-growing segment of Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions
• Must have a valid driver’s license

 

The annual pay range for this position is $67,000 - $84,000 and eligible for a sales bonus.

 

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
