Job Description

The Commercial Director for the North America Services and Repower team is responsible for leading a team of commercial leaders to develop and implement strategies to pursue and secure executable Services and Repower contracts across the region. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The role is accountable for delivering commercial goals and objectives in accordance with an Operating Plan.  Primarily, the role will be measured on the successful execution of commercial strategies, development of customer relationships, meeting order intake targets and the quality of awarded contracts.
  • In this role the Commercial Director will engage early with customers in North America to develop a strong appreciation of their technical and commercial requirements and develop responses to secure business 
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes or customers.
  • Leads others to find creative solutions to address complex projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers. Constantly reviews priorities and balances workload across the commercial team.
  • Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Requires strong commercial awareness and is expected to influence the development of strategy for including control of resources.  Works with the Sales and Product Line teams to deliver commercialization strategies for new products and services required for North America. 
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
  • Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders or customers. 
  • Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations.
  • Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Exemplify the GEV Vernova Way to inspire team members and colleagues.
     

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, Law, or related discipline 
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive commercial, proposal, business development, or deal leadership experience within the energy, infrastructure, renewables, industrial, or power generation sectors 
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, high-value commercial negotiations and contract execution for transactions exceeding $100M in value 

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically across North America as required, up to 50% of time 

Desired Characteristics 

  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in onshore wind, renewable energy, power generation, grid infrastructure, or energy transition markets; wind turbine knowledge preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and influence cross-functional and virtual teams in complex commercial environments.
  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen, including deal economics, margin, risk, cash flow, contracts, and governance.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills, including navigating limited or conflicting information.
  • Excellent executive-level communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple strategic opportunities while maintaining quality, responsiveness, and commercial discipline.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $151,400.00 and $252,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: sales incentive.
