Job Function

 

• Assist with supervising the day-to-day operations of plant personnel, including scheduling coil processing and overseeing workflow efficiency.
• Support quality and productivity initiatives within metal processing operations.
• Assist in managing inbound and outbound shipments, storage, and inventory control.
• Assist with hiring, training, supervising, and developing plant employees.
• Help maintain effective training programs and accurate employee records.
• Conduct or assist with employee performance reviews.
• Interact with customers, potential customers, and suppliers to meet needs and resolve issues.
• Analyze customer requirements and assist in handling emergency customer situations.
• Work closely with the Plant Manager and General Manager to develop short- and long-term operational goals.
• Recommend policies and procedures related to storage, transportation, and processing operations.
• Prepare operational reports and communicate plant performance metrics.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.

 

Required Skills

• Experience managing or assisting with plant operations and personnel.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees, and management.
• Experience preparing reports, recommendations, and operational documentation.
• Knowledge of coil metal products and metal processing operations.
• Familiarity with transportation, storage, and inventory control practices.
• Knowledge of shop operating procedures and workflow management.
• Understanding of metal processing equipment, including operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Knowledge of flatness standards, cutting tolerances, and related industry requirements.
• Strong work ethic with dependable attendance and a commitment to teamwork.
• Positive attitude and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in plant operations or a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience assisting with supervision of employees and production activities preferred.
