- Assist with supervising the day-to-day operations of plant personnel, including scheduling coil processing and overseeing workflow efficiency.
- Support quality and productivity initiatives within metal processing operations.
- Assist in managing inbound and outbound shipments, storage, and inventory control.
- Assist with hiring, training, supervising, and developing plant employees.
- Help maintain effective training programs and accurate employee records.
- Conduct or assist with employee performance reviews.
- Interact with customers, potential customers, and suppliers to meet needs and resolve issues.
- Analyze customer requirements and assist in handling emergency customer situations.
- Work closely with the Plant Manager and General Manager to develop short- and long-term operational goals.
- Recommend policies and procedures related to storage, transportation, and processing operations.
- Prepare operational reports and communicate plant performance metrics.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Experience managing or assisting with plant operations and personnel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees, and management.
- Experience preparing reports, recommendations, and operational documentation.
- Knowledge of coil metal products and metal processing operations.
- Familiarity with transportation, storage, and inventory control practices.
- Knowledge of shop operating procedures and workflow management.
- Understanding of metal processing equipment, including operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Knowledge of flatness standards, cutting tolerances, and related industry requirements.
- Strong work ethic with dependable attendance and a commitment to teamwork.
- Positive attitude and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in plant operations or a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience assisting with supervision of employees and production activities preferred.
