Loader/Forklift Operator - Asheville Distribution

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Distribution Center Loader to join our team at Silver-Line Plastics in Asheville, NC. In this role, you will support warehouse and distribution operations by safely receiving, storing, picking, staging, and loading products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment in a fast-paced distribution environment.
 

Pay Rate: $25.52 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
 

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Perform basic equipment inspections and report malfunctions or repair needs.
• Receive and accurately locate inventory using RF scanning technology.
• Pick, stack, wrap, and stage outbound shipments according to customer requirements.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Execute daily tasks in prescribed sequences to meet delivery deadlines.
• Meet established productivity, quality, and safety goals.
• Participate in cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Assist with stock replenishment as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately.
• Support departmental projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-4 years of warehouse or distribution center experience preferred.
• Previous forklift operation experience required.
• Experience using hand tools.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse inventory systems preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work 8-12 hour shifts as scheduled.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
• Ability to wear all required PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection.
