We are looking for an energetic, creative, and compassionate individual to join our team as a full-time Activities Assistant.
Position Summary
As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing our residents' quality of life. You will design, plan, and lead therapeutic activities that support the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of our residents. Because we prioritize complete resident care, this position requires a valid California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license so you can comfortably assist residents during group and individual programs.
Key Responsibilities
Activity Leadership: Lead daily group events, individual room visits, and seasonal recreational activities designed to engage residents of varying cognitive and physical abilities.
Resident Care: Safely assist residents with transfer, mobility, and personal care needs during activities, utilizing your CNA training to maintain safety and dignity.
Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs of resident participation, behavioral responses, and progress according to care plans.
Collaboration: Work alongside the therapeutic and nursing teams to adapt activities to the unique interests and limitations of individual residents.
Requirements
Licensure: Must hold a current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of California.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and a positive, enthusiastic attitude when working with elderly populations.
Experience: Prior experience in life enrichment, event planning, or activity coordination in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility is preferred but not required.
