For Linklaters Office in Warsaw, we are currently recruiting for the IT Service Management Consultant (Environment Management) role.
The IT Service Management Consultant – Environment Management is responsible for leading the Firm’s ITIL Environment Management practice, ensuring technology environments are controlled, understood and effectively governed across the service lifecycle. The role will scrutinise the managed service provider’s performance, with a focus on environment stability, availability, ownership, documentation and compliance with agreed operational standards. It will act as the key conduit between internal teams, service owners and the MSP for environment-related matters.
The role will also support Change Management activity, helping ensure environment impacts, dependencies and readiness are understood before changes are approved and implemented. In addition, the role may support the 24/7 Major Incident Management function where required, including communications, escalation and internal coordination.
You will be responsible for:
Leading the Environment Management practice, ensuring technology environments are governed, documented, maintained and fit for purpose.
Monitoring MSP compliance with environment management processes, controls, SLAs, KPIs and operational standards.
Acting as the key conduit between internal teams, service owners and the MSP for Environment Management matters.
Maintaining oversight of environment ownership, usage, availability, dependencies and lifecycle status.
Working with internal teams and the MSP to improve environment stability, access controls, documentation and operational readiness.
Identifying environment-related risks, constraints, conflicts and improvement opportunities across key technology services.
Supporting Change Management activity, including environment impact assessment, readiness review, scheduling coordination and risk assessment.
Supporting the 24/7 Major Incident Management rota where required, including communications, escalation and operational coordination.
Engaging with the IT risk management framework, raising and escalating risks linked to environment stability, access, change activity or control gaps.
Supporting the firms Disaster Recovery practice with regard to Environment Management
Providing backup support across other ITIL-aligned practices where required, including Incident, Event, Problem, Request and Risk Management.
Your experience:
Proven experience in IT Service Management within large, complex technology environments, ideally with exposure to a managed service provider model.
Strong understanding of ITIL-aligned operational practices, with specific experience or exposure to Environment Management.
Ability to lead and mature Environment Management, including environment governance, ownership, documentation, lifecycle oversight and operational readiness.
Experience monitoring MSP performance against agreed processes, SLAs, KPIs, controls and operational standards.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify environment-related risks, dependencies, constraints, conflicts and improvement opportunities.
Experience supporting Change Management, including environment impact assessment, readiness review, scheduling coordination and risk assessment.
Good technical awareness of modern IT services, cloud-based infrastructure, Microsoft Azure environments and environment lifecycle considerations.
Confident stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills across technical teams, service owners, vendors and global stakeholders.
ITIL Foundation certification as a minimum; higher-level ITIL certification desirable.
Proactive, collaborative and improvement-focused, with the ability to support wider ITIL practices such as Incident, Event, Problem, Request and Risk Management where required.
