[What the role is]
[LTA-PT] DEPUTY / ASSISTANT MANAGER, BUS EXCELLENCE[What you will be working on]
As Deputy/Assistant Manager, Bus Excellence, you will be at the heart of transforming Singapore's public transport experience. With buses serving as a key transport mode for millions of Singaporeans daily, this role offers you the unique opportunity to directly enhance how people move around our city, making every journey safer, more comfortable, and more reliable.
Working across engineering, operations, and stakeholder engagement, you will support the operations and safety considerations of our bus assets whilst building meaningful connections with key stakeholders, including the Bus Captains and the commuters. These engagements will be your gateway to understanding real-world challenges and translating them into concrete improvements.
This role goes far beyond operational follow-ups. You will influence how buses are designed, tested, upgraded, and refined throughout their lifecycle, ensuring that every modification serves a purpose, whether it's enhancing passenger safety, improving driver ergonomics, or creating a more inclusive travel environment. Your work will directly shape the onboard systems, service experience, and design elements that touch the lives of countless Singaporeans.
As public buses remain one of Singapore's most essential modes of transport, you'll have the opportunity to transform the daily commuting experience for our nation, turning routine journeys into safer, more pleasant experiences.
You will support initiatives focused on enhancing bus performance, safety, and passenger experience through systematic improvement processes, including:
Bus Design Enhancement: Continuously seek improvements in bus design by researching international best practices, analysing feedback from passengers, and adapting to evolving public preferences. Develop and implement solutions, such as luggage racks on public buses and other initiatives to enhance inclusivity.
Support Technology Trials: Assist in planning and executing bus trials to rigorously assess new technologies, advanced safety features, and operational enhancements that elevate service standards.
Stakeholder Engagement and Feedback Integration: Drive affinity for public buses. Engage actively with bus commuters and Bus Captains to gather feedback and translate insights into practical and actionable improvements. Conduct public engagement, such as outreach programmes and focus group discussions across different commuter segments, to understand diverse needs, drive inclusivity projects, and explain trade-offs.
Support Public Feedback Management: Assist in managing public feedback related to buses, identifying systemic issues and recommending corrective or preventive actions to enhance service quality.
Support Bus Improvement Projects: Contribute to bus improvement projects, including mid-life refurbishment programmes, to enhance safety standards, reliability, accessibility, and overall passenger experience across the fleet.
Your work directly influences the daily safety, comfort, and accessibility of public transport, enhances operational effectiveness for Bus Captains, and ensures successful integration of new technologies. This role offers strong visibility and delivers real impact on public transport outcomes at a national level.
