General Purpose of Job
Serve as the face of idcAutomatic for retail and residential customers in the showroom. Drive sales revenue by guiding customers through the buying process from first contact to booked job, delivering a high level of customer service. Support the broader sales team by capturing and routing incoming leads to the appropriate representative, and by keeping the showroom welcoming, organized, and fully stocked.

Showroom Sales (primary focus)
- Greet and engage customers who visit the showroom, contact us by phone, or reach out through digital channels; determine their needs and guide them through the next steps in the buying process.
- Own the retail and residential sale from first contact through booked job, including quoting products and services, presenting options, and closing the sale.
- Educate customers on products, services, features, and available options, and help them select the products that best meet their needs and budget.
- Develop deep product knowledge across idcAutomatic's overhead door, opener, and service offerings in order to advise customers with confidence.
- Follow up on leads and open opportunities from multiple sources, including website form submissions, phone calls, voicemails, and referrals from the service team.
- Perform job checks and on-site measurements for retail and residential work when required.
- Resolve customer concerns and coordinate with internal departments (scheduling, service, and installation) to deliver on commitments.
- Document all customer activity, quotes, and progress accurately and promptly in the CRM.
- Enter presold orders into the accounting system in partnership with Outside Sales.
Lead Coordination (team support)
- Capture incoming leads from email, website form submissions, phone calls, and voicemails; perform basic research and enter them into the CRM.
- Route qualified leads to the appropriate Outside Sales Representative per the established assignment process, or handle retail and smaller builder/contractor inquiries directly.
Showroom Stewardship
- Maintain a neat, clean, organized, and fully stocked showroom, including marketing brochures, catalogs, color samples and chips, and customer-facing displays.
- Keep product samples and marketing materials current, presentable, and ready for customers.
- Support the timely opening and closing of the idcAutomatic showroom.
- Act as a brand ambassador, always seizing opportunities to increase idcAutomatic visibility in the market.

Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- A motivated, driven self-starter who genuinely enjoys face-to-face selling and helping customers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong relationship-building skills.
- Professional appearance and a customer-focused attitude.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional job checks and site visits.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience with CRM and/or ERP software.
- Garage door, dock equipment, access control, commercial door, building materials, or home improvement industry experience.
- Knowledge of garage doors, dock equipment, access control systems, commercial doors, or related building products.
- Ability to read blueprints or construction plans.

The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, touch objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to work extended and/or variable hours based on business need.
Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office and showroom environment and, on occasion, on customer location. The position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, fax/scan machines, and file cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, heat, and stress.
Travel
This position is primarily showroom-based, with occasional local travel for job checks and site visits.
