Description
Join an industry-leading manufacturer of energy-efficient insulation and building material products. The company is committed to innovation, customer service, and building long-term relationships within the construction industry. Employees are encouraged to take ownership of their careers and are supported by an experienced, collaborative team. They are looking for a District Sales Manager to grow an established South Texas territory with significant upside. This is a hunter-focused outside sales role for someone who enjoys being in front of customers, developing new business, and finding opportunities others may overlook. The territory currently generates approximately $5 million in annual sales, with the potential to grow significantly. The ideal candidate will be based in Houston, although a strong candidate in San Antonio or south of Houston will also be considered. You will work closely with an experienced inside sales partner who handles the majority of quoting and customer service, allowing you to spend the majority of your time where it matters most—in the field developing relationships and winning new business.
What You'll Do
- Grow sales and profitability by aggressively developing new and existing accounts
- Spend the majority of your time in the field calling on general contractors, metal building manufacturers, building erectors, and other commercial construction customers.
- Prospect for new opportunities through consistent cold calling, face-to-face meetings, networking, and industry involvement
- Develop and execute territory sales plans, forecasts, and account strategies
- Build strong relationships across customer organizations, from purchasing and project management to ownership and senior leadership
- Identify opportunities for additional products and services within existing and prospective accounts
- Prepare and present proposals, product information, and industry presentations
- Partner with inside sales and customer service to ensure customers receive accurate and timely support
- Maintain accurate activity, opportunity, and customer information within the CRM
- Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities
- Participate in industry associations, trade shows, customer events, and company training
- Manage travel and sales activities to maximize territory coverage and productivity
- Take ownership of the territory as if it were your own business
- Outside B2B sales experience within construction, building materials, insulation, or a closely related industry
- Experience selling into the commercial construction or metal building industry is highly valued
- Strong understanding of metal building construction practices and the various players involved, including manufacturers, erectors, and general contractors
- Proven ability to develop new business through prospecting and relationship building
- Competitive, persistent, curious, and solutions-oriented mindset
- Someone who enjoys the hunt and is constantly looking for the next opportunity
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a large geographic territory
- CRM experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree or some college preferred
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
