About this Role
The Field Fleet Supervisor supports the day-to-day coordination and administration of the regional equipment fleet, helping ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. Working alongside the Regional Fleet Manager and in close collaboration with Irby Construction’s centralized corporate equipment operations, this position coordinates equipment logistics, maintenance, fleet records, tooling and shop tooling, purchasing, asset tracking, compliance, and fleet technology throughout the Oklahoma region. The role serves as a key resource to field operations by helping ensure equipment and tooling are properly maintained, tracked, and available to support project needs.
What You'll Do
- Track owned and rented equipment by job site and maintain accurate fleet records to support utilization and availability.
- Assist the Regional Fleet Manager with equipment allocation and coordination with Operations and Project Management for current and upcoming projects.
- Coordinate routine equipment maintenance and repair activities with mechanics, vendors, and field personnel.
- Generate and process purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing, maintenance, and equipment records.
- Coordinate purchasing of fleet-related materials, parts, supplies, tooling, and shop tooling as directed.
- Track tooling and shop tooling inventory, assignments, transfers, condition, and availability across the region.
- Assist with receiving, issuing, and documenting tools, equipment, parts, and supplies to ensure accurate inventory tracking and accountability.
- Support compliance with DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and other applicable fleet and equipment requirements.
- Assist with equipment inspections and documentation and promote safe operating practices.
- Maintain and monitor GPS, telematics, and vehicle camera system information for fleet assets.
- Coordinate regional fleet and tooling needs with the Regional Fleet Manager and corporate equipment operations.
- Assist with tracking equipment utilization, downtime, maintenance status, operating costs, and related fleet metrics.
- Support field and shop operations through travel within the region and perform other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- General understanding of fleet, equipment, automotive, heavy equipment, construction, warehouse, or shop operations preferred.
- Basic understanding of DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations preferred.
- Experience with purchasing, purchase orders, inventory, tooling, shop tooling, parts, or equipment tracking preferred.
- Experience with equipment telematics, GPS, vehicle camera systems, or similar fleet technology preferred.
- Experience with Oracle JD Edwards, Hubble Insight, or similar fleet, maintenance, purchasing, or asset management systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft applications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous fleet or equipment coordination experience preferred; candidates with related administrative, shop, purchasing, logistics, or construction experience will be considered.
Travel Requirements
- Position is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- Regular travel throughout Oklahoma and Texas is required to support fleet, shop, and field operations.
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb steps, ladders, and access heavy construction equipment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
- Must be able to travel to support projects as needed.
