A Day in the Life
The Distribution Group Lead IV serves as a working team lead within Medtronic's high-movement warehouse operation in Brooklyn Park, MN, supporting the Cardiovascular Surgery Operating Unit. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this role acts as a key extension of site leadership, guiding daily warehouse activities across receiving, storage, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping of life-saving cardiac surgery products. The Group Lead IV selects, develops, and leads warehouse personnel while partnering with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics teams to deliver on service, quality, safety, and cost objectives. You will build schedules and manpower plans, prioritize workflows based on product demand and materials availability, and foster a culture of accountability, safety, engagement, and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires advanced knowledge of warehouse and supply chain operations and 5+ years of related experience in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment.

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Group Lead IV to help drive the daily performance of our warehouse and distribution operations. In this role, you will serve as a team lead and key partner to the supervisor, guiding a team of distribution professionals to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality service in support of Medtronic's mission. A Day in the Life
As a Distribution Group Lead IV, you will provide hands-on leadership and technical expertise across distribution center activities including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping. You will train and delegate work to team members, review completed work, and act as a facilitator to keep daily operations running smoothly. You will also perform complex and technically advanced tasks that support our commitment to service, quality, safety, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Select, develop, and lead personnel to ensure the efficient and effective operation of warehouse functions while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Develop schedules, manpower requirements, and operational plans for assigned areas.
- Partner with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics teams to support strategic operational initiatives and system improvements.
- Prioritize operational schedules and workflows based on product demand, equipment efficiency, inventory availability, and materials supply.
- Support team leadership of warehouse and distribution operations to ensure efficient receiving, storage, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping activities while meeting service, quality, safety, and cost objectives.
- Train, delegate to, and review the work of lower-level employees; lead daily operations of a work team.
- Report malfunctions or abnormalities in equipment and processes, and work with the supervisor to identify potential adjustments or enhancements in systems and processes to improve effectiveness.
- Communicate with internal and external contacts to obtain and provide information on matters of significance to the job area.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing or supply chain operational procedures, systems, and tools, gained through experience and/or relevant training, education, or certifications.
- 5+ years of related experience, which may include a combination of practical experience and applicable training, education, or certification.
- No minimum education requirement.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Prior experience leading or acting as a team lead in a distribution center or warehouse environment.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms.
- Demonstrated experience partnering cross-functionally with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, engineering, or logistics teams.
- Track record of driving continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma initiatives.
- Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
