Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Services Technology (EST) Application Development organization. This role will be a key contributor to the SONAR platform, a strategic enterprise application that provides technology asset intelligence, operational insights, reporting, and modernization capabilities across the organization. The ideal candidate is passionate about building scalable solutions, solving complex engineering challenges, driving innovation, and delivering business value through modern software development practices. You will work closely with product owners, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, data quality, and enterprise decision making.
In this role, you will:
- Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within software engineering and application development environments.
- Contribute to the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and automation solutions.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and deploy high-quality software solutions following engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and business partners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Drive application modernization efforts, including cloud adoption, automation, AI-enabled capabilities, and platform improvements.
- Review technical challenges that require in-depth analysis of technologies, architecture, and development approaches.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues while ensuring application stability, performance, and resiliency.
- Participate in Agile delivery processes, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and code reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence through knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Lead projects and serve as an escalation point for technical issues while providing guidance and direction to less experienced team members.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using AI‑assisted development and analysis tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot and approved code‑centric agents)
- Leverage AI to accelerate system design, coding, testing, analysis, and troubleshooting
- Apply strong technical judgment when validating and integrating AI‑assisted outputs into solutions
- Understand and account for model limitations, security risks, and operational considerations
- Apply AI responsibly in development and production environments
- Ensure AI usage aligns with security, compliance, privacy, and ethical standards
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 4+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and Angular.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience building scalable enterprise applications supporting large and complex business environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and cloud-native development practices.
- Experience with AI-enabled applications, automation, analytics, or reporting solutions.
- Experience designing system integrations using APIs, messaging, or event-driven architectures.
- Experience with DevSecOps, application security, and vulnerability remediation practices.
- Knowledge of technology asset management, CMDB, IT operations, governance, risk, or compliance-related platforms.
- Ability to influence technical decisions and collaborate effectively across engineering and business organizations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and supporting web-based applications and RESTful APIs.
- Strong experience with SQL Server, including complex query development, stored procedures, data modeling, performance tuning, and backend data integration.
- Experience working with Angular and modern front-end development frameworks to build responsive, user-friendly applications.
- Experience collaborating with product owners, business stakeholders, and UX teams using Figma to translate user requirements into intuitive application designs and user experiences.
- Experience with relational databases, API integrations, and enterprise application architectures.
- Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
