WWPS is seeking an experienced Construction Director, Core & Shell to support the delivery of a large scale, mission critical data center construction program in Haskell, Texas.

This is a senior Owner’s Representative leadership position responsible for directing core and shell construction activities and managing General Contractor performance on behalf of the Owner.

The Construction Director will provide leadership across safety, quality, schedule, cost, risk, contractor performance, and site execution while ensuring the successful delivery of major building and infrastructure scopes required to support next generation data center facilities.

WWPS is prepared to support qualified candidates with incentives, per diem and travel programs, or paid relocation packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership for core and shell construction execution across a large scale data center project.

• Represent the Owner in direct engagement with General Contractors, consultants, vendors, and key project stakeholders.

• Manage General Contractor performance across safety, quality, schedule, cost, productivity, coordination, and risk.

• Establish and reinforce a strong site safety culture with clear expectations, accountability, and visible leadership.

• Drive predictable schedule execution and ensure risks to critical milestones are identified, communicated, and mitigated.

• Oversee core and shell construction activities including site development, civil, structural, architectural, building envelope, major MEP infrastructure interfaces, and associated construction scopes.

• Coordinate closely with project leadership, design teams, MEP teams, commissioning resources, and specialty functions to ensure successful integration of core and shell work.

• Lead contractor planning, sequencing, issue resolution, corrective action, and recovery planning when project performance does not meet expectations.

• Maintain high expectations for construction quality and ensure work is delivered in accordance with project requirements, design documents, specifications, and Owner standards.

• Monitor cost performance, contractor changes, schedule impacts, and construction risks while supporting timely commercial and execution decisions.

• Identify emerging site issues and lead mitigation efforts before they affect project safety, quality, cost, or schedule.

• Provide clear executive level reporting regarding construction progress, milestones, contractor performance, risk, and areas requiring escalation.

• Build strong relationships across the Owner, WWPS, General Contractors, design partners, and project stakeholders.

• Champion collaborative execution and Lean Construction practices that improve coordination, predictability, and overall project performance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive construction leadership experience.

• Demonstrated experience delivering large scale data centers or other mission critical facilities.

• Strong core and shell construction experience on complex commercial, industrial, mission critical, or advanced manufacturing projects.

• Proven experience managing General Contractors on behalf of an Owner, developer, program manager, EPCM organization, or similarly accountable project delivery organization.

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a strong safety culture.

• Strong track record managing construction quality, schedule predictability, cost performance, and project risk.

• Experience leading complex construction activities across civil, structural, architectural, building envelope, and major infrastructure scopes.

• Ability to coordinate effectively across MEP, controls, commissioning, and other technical project teams.

• Strong leadership, communication, decision making, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced project environment with significant executive visibility and accountability.

Preferred Background

• Data center construction experience strongly preferred.

• Experience with hyperscale, cloud, colocation, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or other mission critical facilities.

• Previous Construction Director, Core & Shell Director, Project Director, Senior Construction Manager, Senior Project Manager, or comparable leadership experience.

• Experience delivering major capital projects or multi project campus environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

• Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, or comparable project management and construction technology platforms.

Location and Project Commitment

This position is based 100% on site in Haskell, Texas.
