Production Team Leader - 3rd Shift

Overview

Flow Dry Technology, now part of Parker Hannifin, is seeking a 3rd Shift Team Lead to help guide daily production and support team members on the floor. This role coordinates work assignments, helps resolve issues, and works closely with the Production Supervisor to keep the shift running safely, efficiently, and in line with quality expectations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates strong leadership in all areas including safety, quality, interpersonal skills, business conduct, and equipment operation.
• Knowledge to support the set-up and operation of designated equipment
• Isolates the cause of malfunctions or failures and recommends solutions. Works with Engineering and Maintenance as needed.
• Responsible for providing effective training in the operation in accordance with Company training policies and practices.
• Checks equipment to determine accuracy of adjustment and alignment.
• Maintains work area in a manner acceptable to the Company.
• Responsible for operator assessment to ensure that work in process quality checks are being performed according to work instructions.
• Participates with Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering in establishment of preventative maintenance, repair procedures, and spare parts requirements on all equipment.
• Supports complaint investigation, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Prevents defects and possible defects in workmanship, thus reducing scrap.
• Notifies supervisor of impending shortages and any problems with material.
• Maintains all necessary production recording and shop order accuracy, including performance measurement.
• Loads and unloads materials to and from machines as required for production.
• Leads team problems solving sessions to eliminate the root cause of variances and to implement continuous improvement.
• Monitors work practices in the department to ensure that Company rules and policies are being followed.
• Responsible for the effective use of resources, time, materials and equipment.
• Responsible for evaluating customer complaints and developing the root cause and corrective action.
• Maintains effective lines of communication with Production Shift Leader, other Team Leaders, and other departments as appropriate.

 

 

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of machine operation experience
• Supervisory/managerial experience preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude for production equipment and comfortable with using hand tools
• Understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles
• Strong Mathematical aptitude
• Ability to mentor and lead peers and reports
• Attention to detail
• Strong work ethic
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to manage change
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
• Good analytical skills

Supervisory Responsibilities

Oversee and lead assigned department personnel and additional support individuals as directed.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Must be able to stand and walk for up to eight hours
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members
• Frequently climbs ladders to fill hoppers
• Frequently lift objects up to 25lbs; Occasionally lift or move objects up to 50lbs
• Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Normal manufacturing conditions requiring safety observation at all times.
