As part of Pharma Technical Development (PTD), our organization is committed to delivering Pharma ambitions by bringing game-changing therapies from clinical phase I into the market to serve every patient, every day. Our core business is to develop safe, innovative, and effective drugs using cutting-edge technologies for manufacturing processes (Drug Substance and Drug Product), clinical supply, formulation, device, packaging, and analytical development.
The Opportunity:
Serve as Strategic Partner and Trusted Advisor: Act as an objective confidant, thought partner, and executive coach to the Head of PTDB and the PTDB Leadership Team (LT) on business, organizational, and operational strategies and solutions.
Master Operational Oversight ("Air Traffic Controller"): Lead the strategic execution and operational oversight for PTDB, setting the annual meeting cadence (racetrack) to ensure all LT accountabilities and topics are proactively managed and facilitated.
Bridge Ecosystem Interfaces: Serve as a vital link between the PTDB LT and key functional partners—including Portfolio Management, Resource Management, and Communications—ensuring seamless alignment, high visibility, and clear deliverable tracking.
Lead the Global CoS Community: Form and drive a global network of PTD Chiefs of Staff (PTDx CoS) as a functional leader, establishing shared frameworks, standards, and tools to reduce execution barriers across all PTD business units.
Drive Strategic Communication: Develop and coordinate a comprehensive PTDB community communication system, curating high-impact topics such as strategy delivery and LT decisions, while actively embedding in the PTD Global Communication Community.
Strengthen Leadership and Community Engagement: Cultivate robust relationships and enhance network interfaces across the broader PTD ecosystem to foster community engagement, organizational alignment, and functional cohesion.
Support Executive Presentations: Prepare, curate, and refine high-level presentations and executive-level engagement requests on behalf of the PTDB LT to articulate business results and strategy effectively.
Deliver Functional Vision: Drive the end-to-end execution of PTDB functional strategy, enabling the organization to optimize capabilities, build a stronger ecosystem, and accelerate delivery of game-changing therapies.
Who you are:
Advanced Educational Background: Possess an advanced degree (preferably in life sciences), ideally complemented by formal training or a degree in business management or project management.
Extensive Industry Experience: Bring 10+ years of work experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or a similar highly-regulated industry, showing a profound understanding of the end-to-end drug development and commercialization process.
Proven Large-Scale Project Leadership: Demonstrate a strong track record of organizing, leading, and executing complex, large-scale projects and programs using outstanding internal consulting, project management, and collaborative skills.
Exceptional Communication and Facilitation: Exhibit excellent verbal, written, and facilitation skills, with a proven ability to present to executive audiences and curate compelling messaging across organizations.
Global Navigation and Cultural Agility: Display proven capability to navigate, influence, and collaborate seamlessly across multiple time zones, diverse cultures, and multi-disciplinary teams across all organizational levels.
Strategic, Outcomes-Focused Mindset: Combine strategic vision with a fast-paced, agile execution style to consistently deliver impactful business results while managing operations smoothly.
Principled Leadership and VACC Capabilities: Role-model Roche values (Integrity, Courage, Passion) and Leadership Commitments, demonstrating self-awareness, systems awareness, a creative mindset, and the ability to navigate ambiguity through VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) capabilities.
