Main purpose
The HR Manager will lead the HR function for the Athens office, supporting approximately 250 employees. This role ensures that local HR practices are fully aligned with Greek employment legislation, company policies, and the Group's global HR strategy, while acting as a trusted, strategic partner to local leadership.
Key responsibilities
Act as the strategic HR partner to the Athens leadership team and managers, aligning people strategies with business objectives.
Provide expert HR advice across organizational design, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, and people-related risk.
Manage employee relations and people-related matters fairly, consistently, and in full compliance with Greek employment law.
Ensure ongoing compliance with Greek employment legislation, company policies, and HR governance requirements, partnering with external legal counsel as needed.
Lead and coordinate performance management, talent development, learning, and succession planning initiatives.
Oversee local compensation, benefits, and payroll activities, including annual salary review cycles.
Ensure effective delivery of HR operations and employee lifecycle processes for approximately 250 employees, maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR systems and records.
Drive continuous improvement of HR processes, systems, and employee services.
Support organizational change, restructuring, and transformation initiatives across the Athens office.
Partner with regional and global HR teams to implement Group-wide policies, programs, and strategic initiatives.
Lead, coach, and develop the local HR team, ensuring clear priorities, strong service delivery, and effective partnership with the business.
Provide HR insights and workforce analytics to support informed business decisions.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture across the Athens office.
Required qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in an HR Managerial role
BSc or MSc in Human Resources
Strong knowledge of Greek labour legislation
Proven experience within a large corporation, ideally multinational
Fluency in English, both verbal and written
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity tools (e.g., Claude) to support HR efficiency and decision-making
Preferred qualifications
Familiarity with the Workday platform
Experience across the full cycle of people management activities, including employee relations, employment law, compensation & benefits, performance management, and payroll

Department overview
The Athens HR team operates as the local HR function supporting the Athens office, comprising the HR Manager, one HR Business Partner (HRBP), and one HR Generalist. The team is responsible for the full employee lifecycle, employee relations, compliance, compensation & benefits, and HR operations for the Athens population.
Recruitment and Learning & Development (L&D) are managed by dedicated, separate teams, with whom the Athens HR team collaborates closely to ensure a seamless end-to-end employee experience — from hiring through onboarding, development, and ongoing employee support.
The HR Manager reports to the Regional Head of HR and works closely with local business leadership as well as regional and global HR colleagues to ensure that Athens HR practices remain aligned with Group-wide policies, standards, and strategic priorities.
