Description

Are you ready to make an impact?

West Monroe is seeking a Senior Account Partner to join West Monroe’s fast-growing Utilities Practice, aligned to the Northeast and East Coast. This leader will be responsible for growing the depth and breadth of our Utilities business across two to three existing large Northeast accounts. In addition, this leader will support growth in other large accounts nationally by leveraging their network, skills, capabilities, and proven successes. The Senior Account Partner will lead, shape, and convert firmwide strategy, management, technology, and digital consulting services to address emerging opportunities within existing large accounts.

This leader will assemble the right account, pursuit, and delivery teams and lead opportunities from origination through close. The successful candidate will bring deep sales and account management experience, strong industry and/or technology fluency, a relevant executive network, and a demonstrated record of success meeting or exceeding annual sales goals in consulting, professional services, technology services, or a similarly complex environment.

This person will work closely with Utilities and firmwide leadership and account teams to create measurable revenue impact and support the professional development of account teams.

The successful candidate will bring an extensive network of senior utility contacts, experience across the utility value chain of consulting services, and ideally some existing contracts or accounts (to the extent the candidate is not subject to a non-compete clause with their current employer).

The candidate is expected to originate and deliver transformational programs and help shape the future of the industry - bringing deep utility industry expertise, a strong network, and a passion for building teams, developing talent, and driving meaningful client outcomes in an entrepreneurial consulting environment.

As a Senior Account Partner, the successful candidate will be assigned one to three large existing accounts to oversee and grow. Growth may come from engaging new buyers within existing accounts and/or selling new services to existing buyers. Success in these accounts will be leveraged to support other large accounts across the country and showcase West Monroe’s capabilities, distinctive competencies, and measurable outcomes. Bonus compensation, in addition to base salary, will be awarded based on account growth and sales performance.

What You Will Do:

Client Delivery

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and executive relationship leader for two to three large Northeast utility clients.
  • Lead large-scale business and technology transformation engagements focused on utility modernization initiatives, including but not limited to AMI, ADMS, FAN, Distribution Automation, DER, CIS, ERP, EAM, and related platforms.
  • Provide executive oversight of business development opportunities, client management, and client outcomes across a portfolio of projects.
  • Facilitate executive steering committees, strategic workshops, quarterly business reviews, and key stakeholder discussions with client leadership teams.
  • Advise clients on operational improvements, technology strategy, organizational transformation, and modernization roadmaps.
  • Mentor project teams and provide leadership, coaching, and quality assurance throughout engagement delivery.
  • Support delivery teams in leveraging AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.

Business Development

  • Cultivate and expand executive relationships within existing large utility client accounts, as well as with industry partners and key stakeholders.
  • Be in-person “walking the halls” in targeted accounts to generate and lead new business opportunities, managing the full sales lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that drive long-term client value and recurring revenue opportunities.
  • Partner with leaders across West Monroe to identify cross-functional opportunities and bring the firm’s full capabilities to clients.
  • Lead account and pursuit teams to shape, position, and close opportunities—ensuring clear value propositions, differentiated points of view, and strong win strategies.

Practice Development

  • Help define and execute the strategic vision for the national Energy & Utilities Practice aligned to the firm’s goals.
  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop consultants and future leaders across the practice.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture aligned with West Monroe’s people-first values.

What You Will Bring

  • Deep expertise in utility operations, grid modernization, and technologies including AMI, ADMS, FAN, Distribution Automation, DER, CIS/ERP, EAM, and related utility platforms.
  • Proven success developing executive-level client relationships, originating new business, and growing strategic accounts.
  • Demonstrated experience leading medium to large consulting teams and managing complex programs with multiple workstreams.
  • Strong program and project management expertise, including scope, schedule, financial, risk, issue, stakeholder, and change management.
  • Excellent executive communication, facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Experience integrating AI tools into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Ability to travel to client sites up to 50%.
  • A commitment to inclusion and diversity, and openness to new ideas and perspectives.
  • Ability to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to work in-person three days per week, including client meetings, office collaboration, and market-facing activities.
