$18.38 - $26.65 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Position Highlights:
Position: Grill Cook
Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Full Time, 40 hours
Hours: Monday- Friday 11:30am - 7:30pm, with rotating weekends & holidays

What you will do:
Operates grill, burners, ovens and various cooking equipment according to proper procedures. Prepares food in an efficient manner to minimize waste and efficiently serve customers. Maintains a safe and clean work environment according to safety and food preparation regulations and departmental policies.
Prepares, seasons, deep fries, grills, broils, sautés along with employing other cooking methods. Appropriately prepares meats, fish, vegetables and other menu items. Ensures proper cooking method, temperature and cook time. Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe. Adds seasoning to foods during preparation according to recipe or by customer request within limits of menu and supplies.
Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling and piercing. May add gravies, sauces and garnishes to servings. Portions food on serving plates and may add other prepared items to serving as part of customer order or standard menu.
May select recipes per menu cycle, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs and supplies and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets.
Interacts with customers to explain and describe menu, ingredients, taste and cooking methods. Prepares food according to special orders as requested and within limits of menu and supplies.
Cleans and sanitizes workstations, counters, steam tables, char broiler, flat top and fryer daily. Drains fryer oil, disposes of and refills with fresh oil as needed or at least once weekly.
Assists in orientation and training of new employees.
Performs all the duties of the Café Aide as assigned.
Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
What you will need:
The ability to write, speak, and read in English.
Certification: Sanitation certification is preferred.
Experience: Knowledge and practical experience in food service is desirable.
Unique or Preferred Skills: The technical knowledge to operate commercial cooking appliances and prepare food according to recipes in a commercial kitchen.
