POSITION OVERVIEW: Rajant Health Incorporated is seeking a Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and support connected devices ranging from battery-powered wearables to industrial IoT gateways. You will work on end-to-end hardware development, balancing power efficiency, reliability, performance, and cost, while collaborating closely with firmware, cloud, and mechanical teams to deliver production-ready IoT products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop IoT hardware for battery-powered wearables and industrial gateways

• Architect MCU- and SoC-based systems integrating sensors, wireless connectivity, and peripherals

• Create schematics and PCB layouts for compact, low-power wearable devices and robust industrial platforms

• Prototype, bring up, test, and debug hardware at board and system level

• Design and optimize power management systems (battery selection, charging, protection, regulators, sleep states)

• Integrate and support wireless technologies such as BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE-M, NB-IoT, and LoRa

• Consider RF, antenna placement, and signal integrity in both wearable and industrial form factors

• Support DFM, DFT, reliability, and regulatory certification (FCC, CE, PTCRB, UL as applicable)

• Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, cloud, mechanical, and manufacturing teams

• Support pilot builds, production ramp, and ongoing manufacturing issues

• Investigate and resolve field failures and reliability issues

• Document hardware designs, validation plans, and test results

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

• 3–6 years of professional hardware engineering experience

• Strong foundation in analog, digital, and mixed-signal design

• Hands-on experience with IoT devices, wearables, or industrial embedded systems

• Experience designing battery-powered products and/or always-on industrial systems

• Proficiency with PCB schematic capture and layout tools

• Strong lab skills (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, multimeter)

• Ability to debug power, RF, and system-level issues

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience with ultra-low-power wearable designs (sleep modes, power profiling)

· Experience with industrial gateways (multiple radios, Ethernet, RS-485, CAN, USB)

· Familiarity with thermal, EMI/EMC, and ruggedized enclosure constraints

· Understanding of secure hardware design (secure boot, TPM/SE, key storage)

· Experience supporting products through certification and mass production

· Exposure to medical, industrial, or regulated environments

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Strong ownership and accountability for hardware designs
  • Comfortable working across disciplines and product lifecycles
  • Clear communicator with strong documentation habits
  • Ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs between power, cost, and performance
