Description
Join us as we work to create a thriving ecosystem that delivers accessible, high-quality, and sustainable healthcare for all.
Position Summary
Remittance Representatives support several front-line work types within the Claim Submission and Financial Processing Services organization. The role is primarily responsible for processing incoming healthcare payments in preparation for depositing and processing outbound paper claim submissions on behalf of our clients.
Most Representatives begin in our Document Handling area, where we process roughly 50,000 client payments, EOBs, and correspondence — plus thousands of outbound claims — each day. While Document Handling is the typical starting point, we sometimes hire directly into other areas within the department based on business need. Regardless of assignment, all Representatives are expected to work in a timely, efficient, accurate, and safe manner.
But enough about us — let's talk about you.
You bring a positive attitude and a bias for action. You take personal ownership of your work, follow through on your commitments, and communicate early when something gets in the way. You treat everyone with respect, share what you know, and care about the people around you as much as the work itself. You stay focused on the details, manage your time and attendance well, and adapt when conditions or assignments change. You show up, do things right the first time, and bring energy to repetitive work without losing focus.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Sort, slice, extract, and scan incoming mail accurately and efficiently using both manual processes and equipment
Prepare checks and correspondence into accurate batches to optimize scanning, identifying misdirected mail and escalating as appropriate
Learn and apply cursive signature workflows to sign claim documents on behalf of clients — training provided, no prior experience required
Support peers by transporting and distributing work within work areas, and assist with new hire onboarding as needed
Navigate multiple applications daily using a laptop, including Workday, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook
Sit, stand, or walk for up to 8–10 hours per day, with the ability to lift 35–50 lbs multiple times throughout the day
Participate in training opportunities to build proficiency and take on new responsibilities as business needs evolve
Stay current on department policies, procedures, and communications
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Transactional work experience a plus (queue-based, assembly line, numbers-focused environments, etc.)
Experience in a professional environment demonstrating respect, professionalism, integrity, and maturity
What We're Looking For
Strong work ethic — reliable attendance, punctuality, and consistent productivity
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with sustained focus and accuracy
Willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and keep learning
Comfortable navigating a laptop and multiple applications daily
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Mechanical or systems aptitude is a plus but not required
Schedule
The Financial Processing Services department operates Monday through Friday, 6 AM to 5 PM. Starting schedules are typically Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Flexibility is required, as hours and days are based on work assignment and business conditions. Overtime outside of regular business hours is based on business need.
