Driver | Behavioral Healthcare Transportation
Location: Newport News, VA
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Sunday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Monday–Thursday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Join Our Team as a Driver!
Our Drivers play a vital role in the client experience, serving as one of the first and last points of contact for individuals receiving behavioral healthcare services. This position is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation while helping create a positive, supportive environment for every client.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport clients to and from behavioral healthcare programs and appointments.
- Maintain a secure, supportive, and respectful environment for clients during transport.
- Provide professional, courteous, and compassionate customer service at all times.
- Communicate effectively with clients, clinical staff, and other team members.
- Adhere to all transportation policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Monitor clients during transport and provide appropriate assistance when needed.
- Complete required transportation documentation accurately and maintain knowledge of reporting procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safe operation of the assigned vehicle.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Completion of required safety training upon hire.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Comfortable driving for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods while operating a vehicle.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in a variety of situations.
