Shift: 1st

Schedule: Monday - Friday, with Saturdays & Sundays as needed to support Operations, Additional compensation is provided for the 6th and 7th workdays.

Hours: 6:00 am – 4:00 pm/end of shift (flex as needed)

SUMMARY: To plan, schedule and control all activities involved in maintaining the proper care and functioning of the facility's electrical packaging and machine maintenance and work shops. Ensure that all production schedules are met while maintaining cost efficiency and product quality. To ensure all state and federal regulations as they relate to maintenance of the company facility are complied with. Develop and maintain an effective department through selection, development, and motivation of all team members.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, supervises, and schedules all machine, electrical and packaging maintenance projects through optimum utilization of facilities and personnel. Attends weekly meeting of engineers and materials management personnel to discuss the necessary information for the following weeks maintenance and schedule.
  • Coordinates the activities of the lead supervisor and department supervisors in such a manner that maximum effectiveness is obtained for the proper maintenance of machinery within projected costs and schedules.
  • Informs lead supervisor and department supervisors maintenance schedule changes, changes to project specifications and labor variances, coordinates their activities so that appropriate changes are enacted, thereby meeting maintenance goals.
  • Keeps informed through communication with department supervisors of the status of maintenance and schedules and takes direct action when needed to prevent or resolve and delays.
  • Resolves department supervisors and lead supervisors needs and questions as well as helps to resolve employees’ complaints and problems to maintain a harmonious work environment.
  • Promotes the development of new job methods and procedures through cooperation with Research & Development and Quality Control personnel; establishes and maintains departmental systems and procedures to maintain on-going productivity improvements of the maintenance unit.
  • Works with Materials Management personnel to maintain inventory levels as required by maintenance schedules.
  • Reviews and submits to management daily maintenance manpower and weekly environment reports; makes recommendations in cases of unsatisfactory results to achieve improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensures that all contracts are interpreted correctly and are uniformly followed by maintenance personnel.
  • Develops and recommends annual maintenance budget and goals to superior; recommendations based in part on input supplied by the assistant superintendent.
  • Ensures compliance with all environmental regulations. Meets with representatives from state and federal government to ensure all government laws and regulations are maintained.
  • Develops and maintains solid Performance Management and Performance Team concepts and practices to fulfill the organization's participative management philosophy. See that appropriate formal management programs are instituted and followed through in areas of responsibility.
  • Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF System.  Report any issues to appropriate facility management.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: 6 plus years of related maintenance experience. Previous experience supervising maintenance teams.

Computer Skills: Strong working knowledge of computers and various software programs.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking abilities.

Special Skills: Knowledge and experience in industrial maintenance disciplines, including electrical, refrigeration, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for managing a team of maintenance supervisors and/or maintenance personnel performing similar and related tasks and activities.

Travel: Requires 1-5 domestic trips per year.

This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local Team Members are not selected, Team Members from other locations will then be reviewed for consideration.
