The Airfreight Director of Multimodal-Air, Americas is responsible for executing Hellmann's airfreight multimodal product strategy across the Americas and driving the development and growth of the region's multimodal product portfolio. This role ensures competitive and cost-effective pricing, market-aligned solutions, service delivery excellence, and full regulatory compliance.

Serving as the regional subject matter expert (SME) for all multimodal products, the Director provides strategic guidance and support for customer opportunities and operational requirements. The position requires a high level of engagement with both prospective and existing customers, not only to drive business development but also to proactively manage service quality, operational performance, and adherence to agreed transit times.

Success in this role depends on close cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Operations & Procurement, Pricing, and other key stakeholders to deliver customer-centric, reliable, and profitable multimodal solutions throughout the Americas.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Steering:

  • Execute global airfreight multimodal product strategy

Product Development & Pricing:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the continuous optimization of airfreight multimodal products

  • Define multimodal pricing, either spot or RFQs

  • Design and maintain schedule and rate cards

Business Development:

  • Coordinate and present product updates to sales

  • Support sales to acquire and retain customers, by attending customer meetings (online and in-person), being the SME of airfreight multimodal product in the Americas region

Customer performance and retention:

  • Act as the regional escalation point of for internal and external issues involving airfreight multimodal products

  • Drive initiatives to ensure proper customer experience and retention

  • Maintains strong professional relationships with existing customers, including participating in regular customer business reviews

Profitability:

  • Ensure customer and airfreight multimodal product profitability

Leadership:

  • Define succession/replacement, recruiting, and personnel development needs for direct reports and coordinate with HR

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not supervise any direct reports.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Logistics and Supply Chain, Transportation, or associate field), or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement

  • +10 years of airfreight and multimodal experience
