Description
At Intrum, you will grow by making a difference. You will do it in a highly international environment and in a supportive culture where effort counts.
Software Developer with focus on Nova process automation and platform transformation
As a market-leading credit management company, Intrum has broad expertise in debt collection services and we do business in 20 countries across Europe. We have more than 10,000 experienced employees in our group.
Our business is about helping others. Helping indebted individuals get out of difficult situations. Helping companies get paid so they can grow, hire and thrive. This, in turn, is positive for the wider economy. You will become an essential part of this cycle with us, giving your work at Intrum a deeper meaning — regardless of your role or title.
Staying ahead is everyone’s job
As a market leader, it is up to us to stay ahead. To shape the industry. To set new standards. Wherever in the world your Intrum career path takes you, and whatever role you play, you will contribute to growth, innovation and impact that makes a real difference.
Having the opportunity to grow
In our organization, there are many opportunities to advance, specialize and develop. The fact that our business is about helping others — both individuals and companies — means that your work also develops on a more personal level. Simply put, you will grow by making a difference.
The role
As a Software Developer with automation and platform transformation focus, you will play a key role in turning structured document data into automated business processes.
We are implementing an AI-enabled Intelligent Document Processing solution that will help us extract relevant information from documents and store the structured data in Databricks. Your main focus will be to develop functionality that uses this data to automate process flows, reduce manual handling and realize the efficiency gains identified in the project.
This is a hands-on developer role with a strong business process focus. To succeed, you will need to learn how our current processes work, understand the automation to be delivered, and build reliable functionality that moves work from manual processing to data-driven automation.
During the first phase, expected to run for approximately two years, the role will primarily focus on building and improving automation capabilities based on the AI IDP solution, Databricks data and related process flows. This work may include developing functionality and business logic directly in the new platform, rather than in Nova, where that is the right architectural direction.
A key part of the role will also be to document the development work, business logic, process flows and design decisions in a clear and structured way. This documentation will be an important foundation for future platform capabilities and for how we continue to modernize and scale automation across the business.
When the initial automation work is completed, the role will transition into our broader platform transformation journey, including modernizing and refactoring existing Nova functionality into reusable services and capabilities for the new platform.
The role will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, data specialists, architects and development teams to ensure that the solutions deliver measurable automation, efficiency and operational value.
Location: Gothenburg
Working model: Hybrid
Your main responsibilities will be to
- Develop automation functionality that uses structured data from the AI IDP solution to automate business process flows and reduce manual work.
- Learn current operational processes, document flows and decision points, and translate that knowledge into practical automation logic and system functionality.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, data specialists, architects and other development teams to ensure the solutions are robust, scalable and aligned with project goals and target architecture.
- Document developed functionality, business rules, process flows, data usage and design decisions so the work can be reused, maintained and built upon in future platform capabilities.
- Support operational stability, troubleshooting, continuous improvement and follow-up to ensure the expected efficiency gains are achieved in practice.
- After the initial automation phase, contribute to broader platform transformation work, including modernizing Nova functionality or developing selected business logic directly in the new platform where appropriate.
Your qualifications
We believe that you have:
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, data engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Several years of experience in software development, application engineering or system development in business-critical environments.
- Strong ability to understand business processes, process flows, decision logic and data dependencies, and translate them into system functionality.
- Experience developing automation, workflow functionality, integrations, APIs or service-based solutions.
- Good SQL skills and experience working with structured data in relational databases or data platforms.
- Experience with .NET, Java/Spring Boot or similar enterprise development frameworks, and good understanding of DevOps practices.
- Ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, with good communication skills in Swedish and English.
It is meritorious if you also have:
- Experience from debt collection, banking, financial services or other regulated environments.
- Experience with data platforms, data pipelines, analytics-oriented development or event-driven architecture.
- Experience with automation, AI-enabled process improvements, platform transformation or legacy-to-cloud migration.
