Description
The city of Goodyear is looking for a Recreation Leader to support Special Events. This position will assist the Festival & Events Coordinator with duties related to signature, community and employee events. The work environment includes office and outdoor settings for special events. This position requires the ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Examination Process
Only a limited number of the most highly qualified applicants meeting the City’s requirements will be invited for an interview. Examination process for this position will include: Panel Interview
- Assist with event and/or program setup, operations, and breakdown, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service to participants, vendors, and event partners.
- Support event staff, instructors, and volunteers during event and program activities.
- Assist in organizing event materials and supplies as directed.
- Greet and provide information to event attendees.
- Maintain cleanliness and order of event areas.
- Report incidents, safety concerns, or unusual situations to event supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Recreation Leader I
- Prior experience in customer service, recreation, or related experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Requirements for Recreation Leader II
The above for Recreation Leader I, plus:
- One year of customer service, recreation, or related experience preferred.
- Ability to independently provide optimal customer service and problem-solve minor incidents, safety concerns, or unusual situations.
