Description
Join the City of Emeryville's Community Services Department as a Program Aide (Recreation Leader) for the Senior Center.
This position is temporary, seasonal, at-will, and part-time working fewer than 950 hours per fiscal year and is not eligible for City benefits. This position is located at the Senior Center on Salem Street working the following schedule (subject to change):
-Monday & Tuesday 1-4:30pm
-Wednesday - Friday 2-4:30pm
Salary range from $20.34 - $31.43 hourly

The Program Aide (Recreation Leader), under general supervision, performs a variety of administrative and program support functions and serves as the front desk at the Senior Center. This position will be working at the Senior Center on Salem Street and the hours are Monday & Tuesday 1-4:30pm and Wednesday - Friday 2-4:30pm.
Primary responsibilities of the position include front desk duties such as answer/route phone calls and take messages and provide information to the community and staff regarding City activities, services, fees, programs requirements, schedule transportation, schedule appointments, and assist with special events at the Senior Center. This position will serve as the front desk and will be the first point of contact to community members welcomed at the Senior Center. The Program Aide ensures they are addressing customer inquiries and handling customer service interactions to ensure a positive user experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience as follows:- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Completion of two (2) years of college with emphasis in education, recreation, or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience is desirable
- Sufficient knowledge and abilities to perform the duties of the assigned position as advertised
Licenses and Certifications
A valid California Driver's License, with a satisfactory driving record may be required
A current First Aid certification
Physical Qualifications
Eyesight sufficient to read data, memos, spreadsheets, vouchers, and computer screens; manual dexterity to operate a personal computer; ability to sit for extended periods; ability to stand, walk, bend, reach above and below the shoulders, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds; and able to work occasional long hours.
