Job Description

JOB TITLE: Residual Value Model Delivery Manager

LOCATION: Manchester

HOURS: Full-time

CONTRACT: 12-month secondment / fixed term contract

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, at our Manchester Westminster House office.

What you’ll be doing

Are you interested in the automotive industry and how data, insight and machine learning are shaping the future of vehicle finance?

We're looking for a Residual Value Model Delivery Manager to join our Transport division and help transform our residual value forecasting capability. Working across Residual Value Development, Pricing, Data Science and Risk, you'll play a key role in delivering a new machine learning-led forecasting model that supports better commercial decisions and risk management.

You'll help translate business requirements into analytical solutions, support model testing and governance activity, and provide insight on model performance against historic approaches, market benchmarks and real-world vehicle outcomes. Along the way, you'll build deep expertise in automotive markets, used vehicle pricing and the factors that influence residual values.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of automotive expertise, data science and commercial decision-making, while helping support the transition to electric vehicles across one of the UK's largest vehicle finance businesses.

Why join us?

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years’ experience in residual value forecasting, vehicle valuations, automotive pricing, remarketing, model development, econometric techniques or a closely related analytical field.

  • Experience supporting complex project delivery or model implementation activity, including requirements gathering, testing, issue tracking or stakeholder coordination.

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience working with large or complex datasets, reconciling outputs and drawing out clear, practical insights.

  • Experience producing clear written summaries, reporting materials or visualisations that make analysis accessible for project teams, governance forums or senior stakeholders.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams, including data, pricing, risk or governance colleagues.

  • A problem-solving approach, with the confidence to investigate anomalies, work through ambiguity and explain findings clearly.

And any experience of this would be useful

  • Experience working with machine learning models, model validation or model governance frameworks.

  • Knowledge of used vehicle markets, automotive finance, leasing or fleet management.

  • Experience comparing model outputs against benchmarks, legacy methodologies or actual market performance.

  • Experience supporting risk, governance or approval processes within a regulated environment.

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.
