Risk Manager (m/f, 100%)

In your role as Risk Manager of a super management company, you will work as part of the Risk Management team in charge of Real Assets and contribute by identifying, analysing, assessing, monitoring and managing relevant risks pertaining to the funds managed by SLAM LUX and their portfolios.

The role entails being an active member of a Centre of Competence focusing on Infrastructure Equity and Debt investment risks, working in close collaboration with the risk and investment teams in our European units.

In more detail, the activities include but are not limited to:

  • Post-transaction quantitative and qualitative risk monitoring at asset and fund level with periodic reporting to the relevant governing bodies (incl. Risk Committees).
  • Independent analysis of and preparation of comprehensive pre-trade risk assessments for new investments including a recommendation to the respective investment committee, with a main exposure to Infrastructure Equity and Debt
  • Periodic Liquidity Risk assessment including liquidity stress testing.
  • Assess investment restrictions of illiquid assets, pre- and post- trade.
  • Perform the initial and ongoing Risk Profiling process.
  • Review valuations from a risk perspective.
  • Enhancement of the overall risk management policy and framework to incorporate technical developments and regulatory requirements applicable to Risk Management.
  • Participation in projects and working groups as a subject matter expert for Real Assets topics.
  • Respond to queries coming from external stakeholders (e.g. Management Committee, Board of Directors, Swiss Life division and group, regulator, auditors, depositaries).

Profile

  • Master in Business Administration, Finance, or Business Mathematics; certifications like CFA, FRM, CAIA are an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of risk, investment management and/or valuation professional experience, with exposure to Private Equity/Infrastructure investment fund industry; Real Estate is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of the risk and return profile of real assets investments, including the main valuation methodologies.
  • Understanding of the EU regulatory framework applicable to Risk Management.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills and very good knowledge of fundamental investment analysis.
  • Hands on, accurate, flexible and results-oriented way of working.
  • Strong team player, dynamic and resilient with the ability to work independently.
  • Very good MS Office knowledge, especially Excel, is a prerequisite and further IT/programming practical knowledge (e.g. Power BI, VBA, Python, R) is an asset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, German is an advantage.
