Location: Southend-on-Sea
Salary: £14.00 to £24.00 per hour DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with optional overtime available
About the Role
We are recruiting for a CNC Lathe Turner to join an established engineering company in Southend-on-Sea, specialising in the manufacture and supply of CNC turned parts.
This is a hands-on machining role suited to an experienced CNC Turner, CNC Lathe Operator or CNC Machinist who has experience working with Fanuc controls. The company is looking for someone local who can bring solid turning experience and work confidently within an engineering environment.
What You’ll Do
- Operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision turned components
- Set and operate CNC turning machines
- Work with Fanuc-controlled CNC machinery
- Read and work from engineering drawings and specifications
- Check finished components to ensure they meet required dimensions and quality standards
- Carry out basic adjustments and offsets where required
- Maintain a clean and safe working area
- Work to production schedules while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- Support the wider engineering and production team when required
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a CNC Lathe Turner, CNC Turner, CNC Machinist or CNC Lathe Operator
- Good working knowledge of Fanuc controls is essential
- Experience working with CNC turning machinery
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications
- Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Ideally based in or around the Southend-on-Sea area

Candidates from general precision engineering, subcontract machining, manufacturing or production engineering environments may also have relevant transferable skills, particularly where they have experience with CNC turning and Fanuc controls.
