Job Overview
Diesel-Hostler Mechanic will perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on diesel and hostler equipment in compliance with the manufacturers and company schedules. Mechanics will have previous working knowledge of air brake systems, diesel engine diagnostics using Insite, hydraulic systems, electronic controls, electrical circuitry, schematics, and a basic knowledge of diesel engine repair.

Diesel-Hostler Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Follow a checklist of inspection procedures.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions.
- Read and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment such as Cummins Insite
- Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on all types of hostlers, diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment, in compliance with the manufacturers and company schedules.
- Must have your own tools (Heavy Duty tools are supplied)
- Cummins Insight, Cummins diesel engines and D.E.F. systems are helpful, but we provided training.
- Must be willing to complete a drug screen, physical and background check

Duties
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct inspections of industrial equipment and farm machinery to identify potential issues.
- Utilize welding skills for repairs and modifications as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance operational efficiency and safety practices.
- Assist in the training of junior mechanics or apprentices when necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role within automotive repair or industrial equipment maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine components, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and related technologies.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate various tools safely.
- Familiarity with welding techniques is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing mechanical issues.
- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to diesel mechanics are a plus.
