ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Project Manager, you will serve as a key operational leader responsible for overseeing multiple complex construction, coating, and specialty contracting projects throughout Northern California and the Bay Area. You will provide strategic project leadership from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
In this role, you will partner closely with clients, field leadership, estimators, subcontractors, and executive stakeholders while mentoring project teams and driving operational excellence across your portfolio.
Success in this position requires strong business acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and an unwavering commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project & Operational Leadership
- Lead multiple large-scale and complex projects simultaneously from contract award through project completion.
- Develop and execute project strategies that align with company objectives, operational goals, and client expectations.
- Provide oversight of project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, procurement, and execution activities.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, cash flow, and financial performance to maximize profitability.
- Review project performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, owners, and key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
- Lead project meetings and provide executive-level reporting on project status, risks, opportunities, and financial performance.
- Negotiate change orders, contract modifications, and project-related agreements.
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and develop Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field leadership teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and coaching to project teams while supporting career development initiatives.
- Collaborate with Division Leadership on staffing needs, succession planning, and organizational growth.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards.
- Champion safety excellence and support a strong safety-first culture across all project sites.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure work meets or exceeds client expectations.
- Business Growth
- Support business development efforts through client engagement, networking, and strategic relationship building.
- Partner with estimating teams during project pursuits and proposal development.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and process improvement across projects and divisions.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive construction project management experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience managing large, complex, or multi-project portfolios.
- Demonstrated success delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and at or above expected profit margins.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project controls, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Exceptional leadership and team development skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within industrial coatings, specialty contracting, heavy civil, industrial services, or related industries.
- Working knowledge of Viewpoint Vista, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or other project management platforms.
- OSHA certifications and other relevant industry credentials.
- PMP Certification or other project management certifications preferred.

Travel Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout Northern California and the Bay Area to support project operations and client engagements.
