Bank Stores Assistant

Mount Stuart Hospital, Torquay

Mount Stuart Hospital is currently seeking a motivated and organised Bank Stores Assistant to join our busy Supplies Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with strong communication and organisational skills to become part of a team that plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of the hospital. Previous experience in a stores, supplies, administrative, logistics, or healthcare environment would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

The Role

As a Stores Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the effective management of stock and supplies throughout the hospital. Working closely with departments across the site, you will help ensure that consumables, prosthetics, equipment, and other essential items are available when needed to support excellent patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, checking, and distributing deliveries

  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels

  • Carrying out regular stock takes and audits

  • Placing orders and tracking deliveries

  • Managing invoices and associated paperwork

  • Producing reports and maintaining records

  • Ensuring stock is stored safely and accurately

  • Supporting the wider Supplies team with administrative duties as required

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload

  • A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to work

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a Stores, Supplies, Administrative, Logistics, or Healthcare role

  • Experience using SAP S4
