As a field intern, you’ll work alongside experienced construction professionals, gain firsthand experience with the day-to-day operations of a construction project, and contribute to projects throughout Northeast Florida. Position Description
- Assist the Superintendent with coordinating daily on-site activities, including subcontractor scheduling, material deliveries, and equipment logistics
- Assist with monitoring construction quality and ensuring work complies with project plans, specifications, and building codes
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and other activities that promote a safe working environment
- Assist with documenting project progress through daily logs, photographs, reports, and other project documentation
- Support the Superintendent with coordinating subcontractor activities, addressing issues, and ensuring work is completed according to project requirements
- Participate in meetings with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders
- Assist with communicating project updates, issues, and resolutions to project team members
- Gain exposure to construction practices, project management processes, and industry standards through hands-on experience, training, and mentorship
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Building Construction Management or a related field
- Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in commercial construction
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and contribute as part of a team
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
