Job Description

As a Security Officer for Cemetery Patrol in Whittier, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a memorial park location, you will drive routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support visitors, staff, and guests with exceptional customer service and communication. You will report observations and respond professionally to security-related concerns while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven culture.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, families, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a memorial park and cultural institution location.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, including situations involving grieving families and ceremonial services.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of grounds, buildings, parking areas, roadways, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, vehicle, and vendor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, helping to deter unauthorized access and disruptive conduct.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications, and promptly notify appropriate personnel of security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A Security Professional Guard Card or license is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
